Pune, 15 April 2025 – It was a frustrating Sunday evening for around 40 passengers at Goa’s Manohar International Airport after a FLY91 flight to Pune was delayed by nearly four hours, leaving many stranded without clear communication or proper assistance.

The flight, originally scheduled to depart at 8:05 PM, eventually took off only at 12:20 AM on Monday and landed in Pune close to 1:15 AM. Among the passengers was Ameya Kunte, who had reached the airport well in time for the original departure.

“We got a message at 5:30 PM saying the flight was rescheduled to 11:45 PM. But by then, we were already at the airport. It was a long and frustrating wait,” said Kunte. He added that no refreshments were offered to passengers during this delay.

However, FLY91 issued a clarification, stating the delay was caused by a technical issue with the aircraft stationed in Pune. “To resolve the issue, a spare aircraft was arranged. Passengers were informed three hours in advance and refreshments were made available at the airport,” a FLY91 spokesperson said.

The trouble didn’t end upon landing in Pune. Kunte shared that after reaching Pune Airport, there was no coach service to ferry passengers from the tarmac to the terminal. “We had to walk across the tarmac with airport vehicles around us – it felt chaotic and unsafe,” he recounted.

On social media, Kunte voiced his dissatisfaction, tagging the airline and the Ministry of Civil Aviation. “No advance intimation, no food, no pickup bus at Pune airport—passengers walking till arrivals, put to risk,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter).

In response, FLY91 apologized and asked him to contact their support team to resolve the issue.

While the airline claims protocols were followed, the incident raises concerns over passenger experience and ground handling efficiency during flight disruptions – something that newer airlines like FLY91 must address quickly as they expand operations.
