Now You Can Let Others to Use Your UPI Account to Make Payments – No Bank Link Needed! Here’s How

India’s favorite digital payment system, Unified Payments Interface (UPI), just got a major update! With the introduction of UPI Circle, users can now let others make payments from their accounts, even if they don’t have a direct link to the bank account.
What Is UPI Circle?
UPI Circle allows a primary account holder to authorize up to five people to make payments using their UPI account. This feature, introduced by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in 2024, is currently available on the BHIM app and will soon roll out to other UPI apps.
How to Add Secondary Users
To enable someone to pay from your UPI account:
- Add them as a secondary user by entering their UPI ID or scanning their QR code.
- Set payment permissions using one of these options:
- Full Delegation – The secondary user can make payments up to a specified limit without your approval.
- Partial Delegation – Each transaction needs your authorization before processing.
Why This Update Matters
This feature makes UPI payments even more flexible, helping families, small teams, and businesses manage shared expenses with ease. However, users should exercise caution while granting permissions to avoid misuse.
As UPI continues to evolve, this update marks another step toward a seamless and collaborative digital payment experience in India.
