Mumbai Weather Update: IMD forecasts rise in temperature before dropping next week

Today, temperature in Mumbai touched a low of 26 degree Celsius and a high of 34 degree Celsius predicted. East-southeasterly breezes at 1.9 km/h are expected. Sunrise was at 06:09 am and sunset is scheduled at 07:02 pm. Morning temperature today, at 24.3 degree Celsius, was one of the coolest since mid-April, with a 1.3-degree dip below the usual.
Forecast for Upcoming Weekend
This weekend is expected to start with lows of 27 degree Celsius and similar conditions. The upcoming week, however, may see a rise in temperatures, ranging between 27-28 degree Celsius for lows and 36-37 degree celsisus for highs, before subsiding from Tuesday, offering relief from recent heatwaves.
Mumbai has witnessed severe and back to back heatwaves in the past few weeks, with temperatures reaching 43 degree Celsius in specific parts of the city. As per IMD’s earlier forecast in April, May is predicted to offer relief from these heatwave conditions, and shall be less hotter than April this year.
Western Maharashtra Weather Update
Western Maharashtra regions can expect to see high temperatures due to heatwave conditions in North & Central India regions. However temperatures are forecasted to see a dip even there in a few weeks.
AQI for Mumbai
In terms of air quality, Mumbai AQI (Air Quality Index) for PM10 particles is at 116 presently, which is regarded as ‘Moderate’. According to SAFAR-India, AQI values between 0 and 50 are considered ‘Good’, whereas those between 50 and 100 are ‘Satisfactory’. However, caution is generally advised for levels between 100 and 200.
