Mumbai doctor discovers piece of human finger in ice cream he ordered online
Mumbai: A man from Malad, Mumbai, has reported finding a piece of flesh with a nail in an ice cream cone ordered online, police said on Thursday.
The suspected piece of a human finger has been sent for examination, they added. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, according to the police.
“The complainant, a 26-year-old doctor with an MBBS degree living in Malad West, had ordered a butterscotch ice cream cone from Yummo. While eating the ice cream after lunch, he found a half-inch long piece of flesh with a nail in it,” a police official said.
The man, who is pursuing post-graduate studies, initially lodged a complaint with the ice cream company via their Instagram page. However, after receiving no adequate response, he preserved the piece of flesh in an ice bag and approached the Malad police station.
Based on his complaint, the police registered a case against officials of the Yummo ice cream company.
“The piece of flesh, suspected to be a part of a human finger, has been sent for forensic examination to determine if it is indeed from a human body,” the official said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
