According to Investigating Officer Hanumant Mane, the motorcyclist entered the expressway from the Somatane side and was driving in the Mumbai-bound lane. The car driver, who was heading towards Mumbai, noticed the bike in the third lane before the rider suddenly swerved into the first lane. Unable to brake in time, the car hit the motorcycle from behind, causing the rider to fall and sustain minor injuries. Both vehicles suffered damage in the crash.

The motorcyclist has been charged under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act, including rash driving, endangering lives, and dangerous driving. Authorities have reiterated that such violations not only risk lives but also disrupt traffic safety on high-speed corridors.
