In a move that underscores its commitment to safety, Maruti Suzuki has introduced six airbags as a standard feature in its popular Alto K10 model. This significant upgrade, however, comes with a price increase ranging from ₹6,000 to ₹16,000, depending on the variant. The base model now starts at ₹4.23 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a more secure yet slightly pricier option in the budget car segment.

The Alto K10, long celebrated for its affordability and fuel efficiency, now boasts a comprehensive safety package. The six airbags include front airbags for the driver and passenger, along with side and curtain airbags. This upgrade aligns with the growing consumer demand for safer vehicles, especially in the competitive small car market.

Under the hood, the Alto K10 continues to impress with its 1.0L K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine, delivering exceptional fuel efficiency of 24.90 km/l in the petrol variant and 33.40 km/kg in the CNG variant. The car also features advanced technologies like Auto Gear Shift (AGS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), reverse parking sensors, and ABS with EBD, making it a well-rounded choice for urban commuters.

The price hike varies across variants. The Standard variant sees an increase of ₹14,000, while the VXI, VXI AMT, and VXI CNG variants experience the highest jump of ₹16,000. Despite the increase, the Alto K10 remains a strong contender in its segment, offering a blend of safety, efficiency, and modern features.

  • VXI CNG: ₹6.21 lakh (₹16,000 increase)

With this update, Maruti Suzuki has raised the bar for safety in the budget car segment, ensuring that the Alto K10 remains a top choice for safety-conscious buyers.
