As summer arrives earlier than usual, Maharashtra is already feeling the heat. The state is experiencing early summer, with temperatures soaring across regions.
Solapur recorded the highest temperature at 36°C on Sunday, while other cities like Ratnagiri, Jeur, and Akola also crossed the 35°C mark. Bramhapuri registered 36.2°C on Monday. The Meteorological Department warns that the conditions will intensify over the next two to three days, with temperatures expected to rise by 2-3°C in many areas.
In Pune, the maximum temperature hovered between 34-35°C on Sunday, with Koregaon Park and Magarpatta being the hottest spots. While the minimum temperature provided some respite, ranging from 14.4°C to 22.7°C across the city, the weather department predicts a further rise in daytime temperatures. The skies are expected to remain clear, with light morning fog in some areas.

The rising heat is not limited to Pune. Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada are also expected to see a 2-3°C rise in maximum temperatures over the next four days. The sudden spike in heat has left residents scrambling for ways to stay cool, with the cold winter days now a distant memory.
The Meteorological Department advises caution, especially during peak afternoon hours, and recommends staying hydrated and avoiding direct sun exposure. As the temperature rise continues, the state braces for a sweltering week ahead.
