Maharashtra to See Gradual Rain Reduction from September 12
September 11, 2024: The state of Maharashtra is set to experience a gradual reduction in rainfall starting September 12, with all districts moving to a green alert status from that day.
Currently, a depression in northern Chhattisgarh is likely to maintain its strength as it moves northwestward via Madhya Pradesh, gradually depleting moisture from Maharashtra and adjacent areas, reported Anupam Kashyapi, a noted weather scientist and former head of weather forecasting division, IMD Pune.
As of yesterday, the system was closest to Vidarbha, prompting a red alert for the districts of Bhandara and Gondia, while Nagpur was under an orange alert. Today however, these districts have been placed on yellow alert suggesting less severe weather conditions as compared to yesterday.
Pune, is under a yellow alert for the next 24 hours. Rainfall is expected to reduce gradually across Maharashtra in all districts starting September 12.
