No More Running Around Different Offices

Until now, property buyers and sellers had to visit a specific registration office within their district to complete the registration process. This often led to long wait times, multiple visits, and extra expenses.

But with this new system, citizens can register their property documents at any registration office across Maharashtra — regardless of where the property is located. This flexibility is expected to save time and simplify the entire process.

Entire Process to Go Digital

In line with the state’s push for digital governance, the entire property registration process will now be online. Citizens can complete the registration using their Aadhaar card and income tax documents.

If all the documents are correct and verified, officials will add a digital signature to finalize the registration.

Safety Measures in Place to Avoid Fraud

To ensure security and prevent fraud, identity verification through Aadhaar and PAN card will be mandatory. Also, property documents submitted for registration must carry digital signatures from the concerned parties.

Statewide Rollout After Successful Mumbai Trial

The ‘One State, One Registration’ system was earlier launched on a pilot basis in Mumbai and its surrounding areas. After its successful trial, the Maharashtra government is now ready to roll it out across the entire state from May 1.

This move is expected to not only improve transparency but also speed up the property transaction process for lakhs of citizens in Maharashtra.
