Satara, Maharashtra: Imagine running late for an important exam, stuck in endless traffic, and with no way out. Most students would panic, maybe try to plead with the examiner, or just accept their fate. But not Samarth Mahangade from Pasarani village in Maharashtra! Instead of stressing over his ticking clock, he took to the skies—literally—paragliding his way to college.

A Wild Ride to College

Samarth, a student from Satara district, had been in Panchgani for personal work when he suddenly remembered—oops!—he had an exam that day. With barely 15-20 minutes to spare, he realized the biggest problem wasn’t just time, but the massive traffic jam on the Pasarani Ghat section of the Wai-Panchgani road. No way he was getting to college on time by road.

That’s when adventure sports expert Govind Yewale from GP Adventures in Panchgani stepped in. Instead of shaking their heads and wishing Samarth luck, Govind and his team had a wild idea—why not paraglide to the exam center? With no better option, Samarth agreed.

From Stuck in Traffic to Soaring Above It

Under expert supervision, Samarth strapped himself in, grabbed his college bag, and soared over the traffic-packed ghat, making an entrance no student (or professor) had ever seen before. He landed safely near his college, just in time to sit for his exam.

Many advised the youngster to opt for safer ways to travel to college. While many praised his determination, others pointed out how this stunt also highlights the serious traffic congestion in the Pasarani Ghat section—something locals and tourists have been struggling with for a long time.

Whether it’s a lesson in thinking outside the box or a wake-up call for traffic management, one thing’s for sure—Samarth’s sky-high commute is one for the books!
