In a major step toward improving transparency and trust in healthcare, the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) has launched the ‘Know Your Doctor’ (KYD) platform. This initiative empowers patients by enabling them to verify their doctor’s credentials in real-time, protecting them from unqualified practitioners and fraudulent medical practices.
A Reliable Tool for Patients
Many patients struggle to determine whether their doctor is qualified and licensed. The KYD platform provides a simple and effective solution, allowing patients to access verified details about their healthcare providers.
How KYD Works
The KYD platform offers two easy ways for patients to check a doctor’s credentials:
✅ QR Code Verification: Doctors registered with MMC will display a QR code at their clinics. Patients can scan this code using their smartphone to instantly view the doctor’s verified credentials, specialization, and registration details.
✅ Online KYD Portal: Patients can also visit www.kyd.co.in to search for doctors by name and confirm their authenticity before booking an appointment.
This first-of-its-kind initiative in India aims to protect patients from unlicensed medical practitioners and ensure that they receive treatment only from qualified and accredited doctors.
