IMD Issues Weather Alert for Multiple States, Light Rain Expected in Southern Maharashtra

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange/Yellow alert for Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, and the northeastern states until February 23 due to an active weather system.
A trough extending from North Bangladesh to Telangana via Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, and southern Chhattisgarh, along with an upper air cyclonic circulation over central Assam, is expected to cause rain and thunderstorms with lightning in these regions.
Meanwhile, isolated light rain is likely over southern Maharashtra until February 23, with Pune experiencing partly cloudy weather around the same period.
