At 43, Sangeeta Roychaudhuri didn’t just win the coveted Mrs. Asia India 2023 title; she redefined what it means to be a woman of substance. From Humble Beginnings to Corporate Heights

Born and raised in Kolkata, Sangeeta’s journey was anything but easy. Coming from a Bengali medium school, she faced ridicule and rejection for her poor English-speaking skills. But Sangeeta was never one to back down. She fought against the odds, pursued her passion for English, and graduated with honors from the prestigious St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata.

Her professional journey was equally remarkable. She climbed the corporate ladder with global giants like CRISILDun & Bradstreet, and Amicorp Group, holding leadership positions that many only dream of. But Sangeeta’s entrepreneurial spirit couldn’t be contained within the walls of corporate offices. She went on to establish Your Icon, a social media platform with 80,000 followers, dedicated to sharing powerful stories of achievers who dared to dream differently.

Not stopping there, she founded Edudha Academy, an ed-tech platform helping students navigate overseas education, and spearheaded the VoW Club (Vision Oriented Women Club), a networking platform aimed at making every woman financially independent.

The Pageant that Changed It All

For a woman who had once faced rejection in college fashion shows, stepping into the world of pageantry was a bold move. But Sangeeta was not one to be defined by rejection. After winning the Expectant Mom Contest in 2010 and the Corporate Diva Contest in 2016, she faced yet another setback when she was rejected from a beauty pageant.

Instead of letting it break her, she used it as fuel to transform herself. “I was 68 kg back then, and I realized it wasn’t just about weight—it was about feeling energetic, confident, and embracing my best self,” she recalls.

Her unwavering commitment led her to Mrs. Asia India 2023, where she represented the country and emerged victorious. With this, she joined the league of Indian icons like Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who made history by bringing international pageant titles home.

Empowering Women, One Initiative at a Time

Beyond her glittering achievements, Sangeeta is deeply committed to philanthropy and women’s empowerment. Her NGO, Hinjawadi Cultural Association, supports education, environmental initiatives, and healthcare for underprivileged communities.

She recently launched the VoW Club, a networking platform to uplift women and help them achieve their dreams. As the India Chapter Chairperson for Diversity & Culture for All Ladies League, she continues to advocate for diversity, inclusion, and women’s empowerment.

Her podcast, Your Icon, has garnered 80,000 followers, featuring inspiring stories of individuals who have overcome challenges to achieve greatness. And when words fail, she turns to poetry—her book “Celebrate Your Wings” became an Amazon bestseller, and she is now preparing for her next literary release.

A Message to Women Who Feel Stuck

Sangeeta’s story is a testament to the power of resilience, self-belief, and unwavering determination. She encourages every woman who feels bound by societal expectations and family responsibilities to take charge of their dreams.
