Do These 5 Things in the Morning to Supercharge Your day and See the Difference

We all wake up to a new day every morning and all days are different but with a little care, we can make our days go smoothly and feel organized and energized whole day.

Here are five simple things that if you practice every day in the morning, you will feel the difference during the entire day, every day.

1. When to Wake Up – If you by habit, don’t wake up early every morning, then you must wake up at a time to have enough time to follow your morning routine to reach in time for office, school or college. The best method to find this appropriate time is to back calculate from the time you have to reach somewhere. From that moment of time, keep subtracting the time to taken to commute to office/school, finish breakfast, freshen up and get ready in the morning and an additional half an hour for the things to come below.

2. Start With a Glass of Water – As simple it sounds, many of us ignore this simple hack and directly reach out for a cup of coffee or tea. If you relish a glass of water (preferably warm) slowly, it gently rehydrates your body after a long gap of the night and signals the body to start preparing for the day. This also helps with smooth bowel movements. Try to drink water from a tumbler made of glass so you can see the pure and fresh water that you are drinking.

3. Look into the Distance – As you relish that peaceful glass of water, drift to a window or a balcony and look as far as possible, distant mountains, sky, trees or anything that is far away from you. This not only gently relaxes the eye muscles but also gives you a wider perspective in life, making you wiser.

4. Let the Brain Reset Itself – Like computers, our brains too need to organize our storage drives, we call memory. What happens when our computer freezes? We shut it down and let it cool for sometime and turn it back on. Everything seems to work perfectly then. Similarly our brains also need time and space to organize thoughts and memories that were recently created. If you give some waking time to your brain by not doing anything, the brain organizes itself and parks those recently created thoughts and memories at their intended places. This helps you to stay calm and avoid fumbling throughout the day.

5. Avoid Using Your Phone – This half an hour in the morning is sacred. Do not ruin it by looking at your phone the first thing in the morning. If you do that, all the above points will become meaningless. You have not looked at your phone the whole night and the hell is not going to break loose if you don’t look at it for 30 more minutes. Looking at your phone right in the morning deprives your brain the opportunity to reset and soothe itself. You start the day on an excited brain that leads to fumbling and confusion during the whole day.

These were the simple five things which, if practiced honestly, every morning will make a considerable difference to your entire day. However care is to be taken to ensure that this half an hour routine is carried out before any other activity in the morning for it to provide all the benefits listed above.
