Bengaluru Rain: Parched city finally gets rain after six months, residents jubilant
Bengaluru, May 03, 2024: After remaining parched and dry for almost six months, and battling the worst ever water crises, the Garden City finally welcomed rain on May 02 in the evening. Weather agencies recorded 4.3 mm of rain by 8.45 pm yesterday.
Rain lashed Banashankari, Vijayanagar, Ulsoor, Indiranagar, and Frazer Town, while many other areas received light to moderate rainfall.

Varuna Mitra, the 24×7 help desk of Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre, showed that Bengaluru City (BBMP limits) received 4.3 mm rainfall as of 8.45 pm.
Many residents of Bengaluru have taken to social media to express their delight, sharing images and reels of the welcome rain.
Bengaluru last received rain on November 23, and since then, the city has witnessed dry weather conditions, with temperatures reaching record highs on many occasions.
