Pune continues to reel under scorching temperatures, with Lohegaon recording a blistering 43.1°C on April 17 – the highest of the season so far. Meanwhile, Shivajinagar saw a slight dip at 40.3°C but offers no respite from the relentless heat wave.

According to noted weather scientist Vineet Kumar, the sweltering conditions are expected to persist for at least four more days, with Pune’s temperatures staying above 40°C during the day and not dipping below 20°C at night.

High relative humidity of 47% will make the heat feel even more oppressive, with clear and sunny skies forecast.

Across Maharashtra, Akola recorded the highest temperature at 44.1°C, while Mahabaleshwar remained the coolest at 19.4°C. Authorities have advised caution as the intense heat poses health risks.
