Pune Porsche Accident: Builder, father of the minor, who caused deaths of two people with his car, arrested
Pune, May 21, 2024: A well-known builder in Pune, has been arrested following a fatal accident in which his minor son was driving a Porsche that collided with and killed two IT engineers in the Kalyani Nagar area.
The builder had been missing since the case was filed against him, prompting the Pune Police to form multiple teams to find him.
He was apprehended early Tuesday in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar by a team from the Pune Police’s crime branch. He is expected to be brought to Pune in the afternoon and then presented in court.
The accident, which involved a minor (17) driving a Porsche, caused widespread outrage in Pune. Following the incident, the police opened an investigation against his builder father. He was charged with violating Sections 3, 5, and 199 of the Motor Vehicle Act by allowing his underage son to drive.
Furthermore, he was charged under Sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act for allowing his son to attend a party and consume alcohol.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage throughout the country, with many questioning the law’s effectiveness. In response, the Pune Police have taken stringent measures, including charging the hotel and bar owners who served alcohol to the minor. Cases have been filed against the owner of Hotel Cosie, and the owner of the Blak Club at Marriott Suites and the bar counter manager.
