- Jio 5G services launched in Pune on 23rd November.
- Jio customers in Pune will be asked to take advantage of the Jio Welcome Offer, which offers unlimited data at rates of up to 1 Gbps+ at no extra cost.
- Those who qualify will probably receive an invitation on the MyJio app.
The Jio 5G services have launched in Pune following the rollout of 5G in Delhi NCR. Pune residents can now access unlimited 5G data at speeds of up to 1 Gbps. Users will be able to use 5G services starting November 23.
“Post the launch of Jio True 5G in 12 cities, a large number of Jio users have enrolled in the Jio Welcome Offer, thereby helping Jio with customer and service feedback to create what will be the most advanced 5G network anywhere in the world,” a Jio Spokesperson said when discussing the introduction of 5G services in Pune.
“As anticipated, Jio’s True 5G network has much higher data usage than the company’s current 4G network. What is notable is that this data experience is being delivered at lightning-fast rates ranging from 500 Mbps to 1 Gbps and with incredibly low latency, enabling use-cases across many industries that only a True 5G network can realize, he continued.
Jio customers in Pune will be asked to take advantage of the Jio Welcome Offer, which offers unlimited data at rates of up to 1 Gbps+ at no extra cost.
For those who are unfamiliar, Jio’s welcome offer is entirely invitation-based, and not every subscriber will receive one. Users who have a valid prepaid or postpaid plan with a value of at least Rs 239 would only receive the invitation from Jio.
It’s interesting to note that current Jio customers won’t need to buy a separate 5G SIM since their Jio 4G SIM will enable 5G. In order to receive the Jio 5G invite, consumers would simply need to confirm that their phone has an active plan that costs Rs 239 or more and supports Jio 5G.
Those who qualify will probably receive an invitation on the MyJio app. Therefore, if you reside in one of the Jio 5G qualifying cities, check the MyJio app for the invite.

In terms of prepaid plans, Jio has not yet introduced any that are tailored specifically for 5G. When the 5G service expands to more cities in the upcoming months, the telecom operator will introduce 5G plans.
By the end of this year, Jio hopes to cover important cities, and by the end of 2023, it would cover all of India. Users can use Jio 5G for free up to that point.
