A seven-year-old boy died from food poisoning, and five members of his family became critically ill in Pilibhit. The incident on Friday night has shocked people throughout the area.
Rahul Kumar, a young boy from Dehradun, was visiting his maternal grandparents in Rahul Nagar Colony, located in the Pooranpur tehsil of Pilibhit, with his mother Seema and two siblings, Vivek and Sandhya.
According to reports, the entire family ate instant noodles and rice on Thursday evening. Shortly after, Rahul, his two siblings, mother, and maternal aunts, Sanju and Sanjana, became ill.
They were rushed to a private hospital on Friday and then transferred to the local Community Health Centre (CHC) for further treatment. Rahul died on the way to the center, and Vivek was taken to the district hospital because his condition was critical. The remaining four family members are still being treated at the health center.
After eating the noodles, all six members developed severe stomach pain and diarrhea as a result of food poisoning. Further investigations are on.
