Seven Arrested for Negligence After Pune Techie Dies in Zipline Fall at Amusement Park

Pune, April 22, 2025 – In a tragic incident at Rajgad Water Park Resort in Bhor tehsil, Pune, a 28-year-old techie, Taral Atpalkar, died after falling from a zipline tower on April 18. Pune Police have arrested seven individuals, including the park’s owner, operator, and manager, for alleged negligence leading to the fatal accident.
According to officials, Atpalkar was preparing for her zipline ride when she removed her helmet to take selfies and leaned against a safety barricade that collapsed. Police revealed that she had climbed onto an unstable iron stool while attaching the safety hook, causing her to lose balance and fall through a 30-foot gap between railings. She was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The arrested include manager Anil Jadhav, adventure manager Dilip Gosavi, and employees Vishal Kumar, Shriramesh Kumar, and Swapnil Diwale. The resort’s owner and operator have also been named in the FIR, though their identities are pending verification of ownership documents.
The victim, a resident of Pune’s Dhayri area, was on a family trip at the time of the incident. Authorities are investigating safety lapses at the adventure park, emphasizing the need for stricter enforcement of amusement ride regulations.
