Pune, April 14, 2025: A disturbing incident has left residents of Sidra Garden Cooperative Housing Society in Dhanori on edge after three masked and armed men were caught on CCTV attempting to break into a flat during the early hours of Tuesday, April 8.

The suspects, dressed in black and wielding weapons resembling machetes, were seen lurking around the society premises between 4 am and 5 am. Their suspicious movements were clearly recorded on CCTV, and the footage has since gone viral, further amplifying public concern.

Following the incident, alarmed residents lodged a complaint with the Vishrantwadi Police Station and also brought the matter to the attention of the Pune Police Commissioner. According to the complaint, the masked intruders made a direct attempt to illegally enter one of the flats, triggering fear among society members.

This incident echoes a disturbing trend seen in Pune in recent months, where groups of young men have been reported brandishing sharp weapons and threatening residents. In one such previous case, intruders struck doors with machetes, spreading panic across neighborhoods.

The Dhanori incident has reignited concerns over the security measures in housing societies, with many residents expressing worry over the increasing frequency of such events. Locals are now demanding stricter patrolling and faster police response to ensure their safety.
