Pune: Katraj Flyover Work to Be Completed by December 2025, Says MLA Yogesh Tilekar

The construction of the Katraj flyover, which was stalled due to delays in land acquisition and traffic planning, is now back on track. Legislative Council MLA Yogesh Tilekar recently inspected the site and directed officials to ensure the project is completed by December 2025. During his visit, Tilekar emphasized the importance of quality and speed in completing the flyover, which is expected to permanently resolve traffic congestion at Katraj Chowk and Kondhwa Road.
Officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) confirmed that the work of laying girders on the pillars is currently underway. Shruti Naik, Executive Engineer of NHAI, stated that the girders for the entire flyover are ready, and the filling work will be completed before the monsoon if the municipality hands over the required land.
In addition to the flyover, Tilekar addressed the stalled 24/7 water supply scheme, instructing traffic police to assist in traffic planning to facilitate its completion. He also highlighted the need to expedite land acquisition for the Katraj-Kondhwa road widening project. Despite the state government allocating Rs 140 crore for compensation seven months ago, delays persist. Tilekar announced that a proposal will be presented in the Legislative Council to accelerate the process, aiming to complete the road within one to two years.
Key officials present during the inspection included Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zhende, Roads Department Head Aniruddha Pawaskar, and Water Supply Officer Shrikant Vayadande, among others.
