Pune News: A leopard was spotted on a tree at the Ambegaon camping site near Pavana Dam in Maval taluka on Friday morning, causing widespread panic among tourists and locals. The incident follows an attack by the leopard on a local resident, identified as Balu Shinde from Shindgaon, Maval, who sustained injuries.

Forest officials and police were immediately alerted, and a team was dispatched to the location. The forest department is now working to safely relocate the leopard back into the jungle. Given the area’s popularity among tourists, the presence of the leopard has raised significant safety concerns.

Authorities have urged people to remain calm and avoid approaching the animal. A forest department official stated, “We are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the leopard is not harmed. A trained rescue team is working to send it safely back into the wild.”

Meanwhile, some tourists at the campsite have relocated to safer areas. The situation is being closely monitored, and efforts are underway to return the leopard to the forest as soon as possible.
