To ease congestion, 25 junctions have been earmarked for improvement, and ₹262 crore has been proposed for land acquisition for the National Highways Authority of India’s (NHAI) planned 8-lane elevated corridor via Chakan.

The budget also sets aside ₹1,960 crore for infrastructure projects, including the Bhama Askhed jackwell project, a new water tank at Durga Devi Tekdi (28 MLD capacity), and a proposed pipeline to source water from Andra Dam.

PCMC plans to issue ₹200 crore in green bonds to fund its non-motorised transport initiative and environmental projects such as Harit Setu, aimed at improving last-mile connectivity. The civic body, which received an AA+ stable rating from Crisil, joins Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Ghaziabad, and Indore in leveraging green bonds for urban development.

In education and safety, the budget emphasizes enhanced CCTV surveillance in PCMC-run schools, setting up classroom libraries in 50 more institutions, and establishing English medium schools in Kasarwadi and Bhosari. Health and wellness centers will be introduced at 70 locations, and ₹112 crore has been earmarked for the rejuvenation of the Indrayani river.

Fire safety receives a boost with a ₹56 crore allocation for advanced vehicles, while sewage management will be improved through new treatment plants in Kiwale and other areas. Additionally, the civic body will procure recyclers to handle drainage choke-ups across zones.

Social initiatives include financial aid for waste pickers’ children and a proposed one-stop senior citizen center. Despite the increased budget size—₹1,000 crore higher than last year’s ₹8,676 crore—PCMC remains committed to maintaining current property tax rates while expanding the tax base through geo-tagging and QR coding of newly identified properties.
