Pune is set to witness a major boost in tourism with a Comprehensive Tourism Development Plan, which is being expedited under the guidance of District Collector Jitendra Dudi and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. A private agency has been assigned to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR), which is expected to be completed within two months. The implementation of this ambitious project will take place over the next three years.
The plan aims to enhance tourism infrastructure across Pune’s historical sites, religious places, forts, natural landscapes, and agri-tourism destinations. Recognizing the region’s cultural and geographical significance, District Collector Jitendra Dudi has initiated the move to develop an integrated tourism strategy. Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar, the Guardian Minister of Pune district, has stressed the need for swift action to highlight Pune’s rich heritage.
Under this plan, a roadmap is being formulated to promote religious, historical, medical, agri, and eco-tourism across all talukas of Pune district. The private agency assigned to the project will submit the DPR within two months, paving the way for implementation.
Once executed, this initiative is expected to significantly enhance visitor experiences, improve tourism-related infrastructure, and contribute to the local economy by attracting more travelers to Pune’s cultural and natural heritage.
