This development follows an official confirmation by Vinayak Garg, the newly appointed Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Nagpur, who revealed that the Nagpur Board of Central Railway has submitted a proposal to the Railway Board. The proposal, currently under evaluation, aims to enhance passenger convenience and improve connectivity on these high-demand routes.

Currently, the Nagpur-Pune route is served by the Superfast Express, Garib Rath Express, and Humsafar Express, while the Azad Hind Express and Hatia-Pune Superfast Express provide additional options. Similarly, the Nagpur-Mumbai route relies on the Vidarbha Express and Sevagram Express. However, these services often fall short during peak seasons, leaving passengers with limited options and extended waiting times.

DRM Vinayak Garg emphasized Nagpur’s strategic importance in the railway network, stating, “With over 125 trains operating daily, Nagpur serves as a crucial junction. The introduction of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train will significantly enhance passenger convenience and connectivity.” The new service is expected to launch shortly, offering a faster, safer, and more comfortable travel experience.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper trains are designed to address the growing demand for efficient and modern travel options. With reduced travel times—cutting the Nagpur-Mumbai journey to 10 hours and the Nagpur-Pune trip by three hours—these trains will provide state-of-the-art amenities tailored for overnight journeys. Known for their cutting-edge technology and passenger comfort, Vande Bharat trains will now offer sleeper variants, further elevating long-distance travel.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in modernizing Maharashtra’s railway infrastructure, ensuring improved efficiency, safety, and convenience for passengers traveling between Nagpur, Pune, and Mumbai.
