Hyundai Motor India has officially launched the much-awaited Hyundai Creta Electric SUV at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Starting at ₹17.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Creta Electric promises a powerful mix of style, performance, and cutting-edge technology tailored to Indian consumers.

Battery Options and Performance

The Hyundai Creta Electric comes with two battery packs:

  • 42 kWh pack: Offers an ARAI-rated range of 390 km, delivering 135 PS.
  • 51.4 kWh pack: Delivers an extended range of 473 km, with a robust 171 PS output.

Using a DC fast charger, the battery can go from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes, while an 11 kW AC charger takes around 4 hours for a full charge. The long-range variant impressively sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and includes driving modes – Eco, Normal, and Sport – along with Hyundai’s advanced i-Pedal technology for single-pedal driving.

Sleek Design with Modern Features

The design philosophy of the Creta Electric closely mirrors its ICE counterpart, with updates for aerodynamics. Standout exterior features include:

  • Blanked-off grille with redesigned front and rear bumpers.
  • Active air flaps in the lower bumper for optimized airflow and battery cooling.
  • Front-fender-mounted charging port and repositioned Hyundai logo.

Inside, the Creta Electric boasts dual 10.25-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation, a new steering wheel design, and a host of premium features such as:

  • Panoramic sunroof and ventilated, powered seats.
  • ADAS Level 2 capabilities, including Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning, and Smart Cruise Control.
  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, enabling the car’s battery to power external devices.

Variants and Color Options

The Creta Electric will be available in four trims: Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence. Buyers can choose from 8 monotone and 2 dual-tone colors, including 3 matte finishes. However, dual-tone roof options are exclusive to higher trims.

Competitive Landscape

The Hyundai Creta Electric faces competition from established players like MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra XUV 400, and new entrants such as the Mahindra BE 6, Harrier EV, and Honda Elevate EV. With its premium features and aggressive pricing, Hyundai is clearly aiming to dominate the mid-sized EV segment.

The Hyundai Creta Electric SUV offers a powerful combination of futuristic design, advanced features, and range versatility, making it a compelling choice for EV enthusiasts in India.
