Game Changer Opens Big Worldwide with ₹186 Crore Box Office on Day 1, Trails Behind Pushpa 2
Game Changer, the much-anticipated action entertainer directed by S Shankar and starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, has made a remarkable debut at the worldwide box office. According to the film’s team, the political drama earned ₹186 crore globally on its opening day, cementing its position as a significant player in the global film market.
A Strong Domestic and Global Opening
Domestically, Game Changer grossed ₹51.25 crore across five languages—Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. Globally, the film achieved over three times this figure, reaching ₹186 crore, thanks to strong international markets and Ram Charan’s immense star power following the success of RRR.
The film’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle celebrated this milestone, sharing:

Plot and Cast: A Political Drama with Action Packed Punches
Set against the backdrop of Indian politics, Game Changer follows the journey of an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, played by Ram Charan, as he confronts corruption and fights for electoral reform. Kiara Advani stars as the female lead, with an ensemble cast featuring SJ Suryah, Jayaram, and Vennela Kishore. The film is produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations.
Trailing Behind Pushpa 2
Despite its impressive opening, Game Changer falls short when compared to the recent juggernaut, Pushpa 2: The Rule. Released last month, the Allu Arjun-starrer raked in ₹294 crore globally on its first day, a staggering ₹100 crore more than Game Changer’s debut.
Moreover, Pushpa 2 has already amassed over ₹1,800 crore globally, solidifying its position as one of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema history. The franchise’s success has also paved the way for a third installment, Pushpa 3: The Rampage.
While Game Changer has started strong, its journey to match or surpass Pushpa 2’s records will be a challenging feat, highlighting the fierce competition in Telugu cinema.
