Pune, September 08, 2024: In an extraordinary display of devotion, over 42,000 women gathered at the Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandal in Pune to collectively chant the Atharvashirsha, creating a world record. The event, organized as part of the 132nd year of Ganesh Utsav, was held on the occasion of Rishipanchami and witnessed a peak in participation from women across Maharashtra, including Pune, Mumbai, Latur, Kolhapur, and Nashik.

The atmosphere was charged with spiritual energy as women dressed in traditional attire arrived at the venue as early as 1 AM. The grand ceremony began with the sound of conch shells and the chanting of Omkar japa, followed by the Atharvashirsha recitation, which is believed to calm the mind. As the women raised their hands and clapped, chants of “Om Namaste Ganapataye” and “Morya, Morya” filled the air, adding to the sacred ambiance.
The highlight of the event was the mass chanting of Atharvashirsha, where the women performed Mahaarti, invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesha. The sight of thousands of women reciting in unison created a moving and powerful scene that culminated in the event being recorded in the Guinness Book of Records.

Dr. Aruna Dhere, a prominent literary figure, delivered a powerful message during the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of wisdom and intelligence in navigating life’s challenges. “True power lies in wisdom. Behind every action, there is a mind, a thought. We must always act wisely,” she remarked, urging women to awaken their inner strength.

The event was graced by dignitaries such as Vrishali Srikant Shinde, Trust Treasurer Mahesh Suryavanshi, Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal President Prakash Chavan, and activists like Shubhangi Bhalerao and Prof. Gauri Kulkarni. India Star World Record recognized the event, and Deepak Harke presented a certificate to the trust, marking the significant achievement.
