The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has launched a special campaign to monitor private bus operators, ensuring they comply with fare limits during the festive season. This campaign will run until September 30, 2024, with a focus on preventing operators from overcharging passengers beyond the maximum fare limits established for various routes.

According to the Pune RTO, passengers should report any violations, including fare increases of more than 50% per kilometer compared to regular fares or more than 1.5 times the fare of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) buses. Complaints can be submitted via email to rtopune@gmail.com or through WhatsApp at 8275330101.

“The government has set these fare caps through an official decision issued on April 27, 2018, and violators will face strict action,” stated Swapnil Bhosale, Deputy Regional Transport Officer.
