Pune: Traffic Advisory for Muharram Processions on July 17
In Pune city on July 17, 2024, several processions will be taken out on the occasion of Muharram. To prevent traffic jams during these processions, the traffic branch of Pune City, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Himmat Jadhav, has issued a traffic advisory. Essential service vehicles such as fire brigades, police vehicles, and ambulances are exempt from these restrictions.
Main Procession (3:00 PM)
The main procession will start at Srinath Talkies and proceed through Dutt Mandir, Belbagh Chowk, Budhwar Chowk, Jijamata Chowk, Shaniwarwada, Futka Buruj, Gadgil Putla Chowk, Dengle Bridge, Gadital Chowk, RTO Chowk, and end at Sangam Bridge immersion site.
Lashkar Procession (12:00 PM)
This procession will assemble at Tabut Panje, passing through Batliwala Baghi, Sarbatwala Chowk, Babajan Darga, Bhogale Chowk, Gawksab Masjid, M.G. Road, Kohinoor Chowk, Bhagwan Mahaveer Chowk, Naz Hotel Chowk, Buti Street, Batliwala Baghi Chowk, Nehru Memorial Hall, Rahim Petrol Pump, Juna Samarth Police Station, Power House, K.E.M. Hospital, Apollo Talkies Chowk, Daruwala Bridge, Phadke Houd Chowk, Balun Moti Chowk, Sonya Maruti Chowk, Vijay Maruti Chowk, and Belbagh Chowk, joining the main procession.
Procession from Khadki Area (6:45 PM)
The procession will travel from Bopodi Chowk along Mumbai Pune Road to Dapodi River for immersion.
Patil Estate Galli No. 10 Procession (2:00 PM)
This procession will move from the Marg Silk Department and Dudh Dairy, arriving at Patil Estate, and return to the original location. The procession will culminate with immersion at Sangam Bridge at Patil Estate Galli No. 10.
Procession Leaving from Imamwada (10:30 AM)
The procession will start from Imamwada, proceed through Lashkar, Agakhan Compound, Rahim Petrol Pump, Nehru Memorial Chowk, Police Commissioner Office, General Post Office Chowk, Sadhu Vaswani Chowk, Connaught Road, Agakhan Compound, and return to Imamwada for immersion.

Traffic Diversions
Traffic on the mentioned routes will be closed or diverted for short periods as needed, and will be restored as the processions move. Motorists are advised to avoid these routes at the mentioned times and use alternate ones to ensure smooth traffic flow.
