Maharashtra Rains: Red and Orange Alerts Issued for Multiple Districts on July 14 – Full Details Inside

Tomorrow on July 14, many districts in Maharashtra are predicted to witness extremely heavy rainfall with IMD issuing red and orange alerts.

Maharashtra rainfall forecast for July 14

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, and Satara, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places. Thane, Raigad, and Pune are on orange alert, with extremely heavy rainfall expected at isolated places in the ghat areas and moderate rain in the plains. The rest of the districts in the state are on either yellow or green alerts, with moderate to heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, strong winds, and lightning likely.

District Wise Alert Levels Issued by IMD

Weather experts are advising against traveling to ghats. Stay away from water bodies as water levels can quickly rise significantly.

Anupam Kashyapi, former head of weather forecasting division, IMD Pune advises to avoid traveling to Konkan on 13 and 14 July and also to the ghats of Madhya Maharashtra.

Mumbai will also witness heavy rains on July 14.

Precautions are advised and stay updated with weather conditions before traveling out.
