Pune: Divisional Commissioner Orders Agencies to Address Hinjawadi Industrial Concerns
Pune: C Pulkundwar, the divisional commissioner of Pune, has directed PMRDA, PCMC, NHAI, and PWD, among other agencies, to address the concerns of the Hinjawadi Industries Association members.
The divisional commissioner visited the area on Friday and engaged in extensive discussions with stakeholders, including heads of the industry association and officials responsible for infrastructure development.
“I had a detailed discussion with all the stakeholders — the industry association’s heads as well as the executing authorities of infrastructure development works. The latter will have to submit the timeline for the works to be undertaken to address the demands of the industries,” said Pulkundwar on Saturday.
The Hinjawadi association members had tabled a list of 19 demands, including maintenance of roads, additional and alternative roads, and clearing of cables, hoardings, and garbage. Earlier this week, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had directed the divisional commissioner to conduct a meeting with the industries’ association and had set a timeline for fulfilling their demands.
Colonel Yogesh Joshi (Retd), representing the Hinjawadi Industries’ Association, expressed optimism about the recent developments. “The intervention by the deputy chief minister, followed by the divisional commissioner’s visit, marks a positive step towards addressing the concerns of our association,” said Joshi.
Former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had previously highlighted the challenges faced by the Hinjawadi IT hub in a social media post last month, noting that 37 industries had relocated due to inadequate infrastructure.
The directives from the divisional commissioner underscore a concerted effort to enhance infrastructure and support the growth of industries in the Hinjawadi area, pivotal to Pune’s economic landscape.
