How to check if water is mixed in milk? FSSAI shares a simple test at home
The Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has recently shared a video showing a simple test that can be conducted at home to water is mixed in milk or not.
How to Check Water Adulteration in Milk
- Take the glass plate or a slide.
- Pour a drop of milk sample over the glass plate, while keeping the plate tilted, allowing the milk to flow downward.
- Notice how the milk drop flows:
- If the drop moves slowly, leaving a white trail behind it, the milk is pure.
- If the drop moves quickly down the plate without leaving any significant trail, it proves that the milk is adulterated with water.
