A video has been circulating on the social media where a user demonstrates how a seemingly harmless bottle of drinking water kept inside a car can lead to a fire.

Citing numerous incidents of cars spontaneously catching fire across the country during summer, vlogger Harsh Chauhan made a video, advising people not to leave drinking water bottles on the seats of their car.

He shows a demonstration where a bottle of drinking water kept in a car, parked in the sun, caused a fire to start.

In the video, Harsh explains that water in the bottle acts as a lens and focuses sunlight to a narrow spot, where fire starts within a few minutes.

A fire in an unattended car can grow into a catastrophic blaze, potentially consuming the entire vehicle. To prevent this, it is advised to store water bottles under the seats, especially when parking in the sun during summer. This precaution helps avoid the lensing effect, which can lead to a fire.
