Sept 19, 2023: Reliance Jio has officially launched its highly anticipated Jio AirFiber fixed wireless broadband service in 8 cities, marking the product’s debut on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Initially revealed by Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, last month during the company’s annual general meeting, Jio AirFiber aims to revolutionize the digital services landscape.
Competing with Airtel Xstream AirFiber
The Jio AirFiber will be in direct competition with Airtel Xstream AirFiber, offering a similar range of services. Prices for the Jio AirFiber plans start at Rs 599, with the most premium package available at Rs 3,999.

Unlike traditional fiber optic broadband, Jio AirFiber uses high-speed 5G technology, making it portable and easy to install. The key offerings include access to 550+ Digital TV Channels, Catch-up TV, and 16+ OTT Apps, as well as indoor WiFi and smart home services like Cloud PC, surveillance, and home networking.

Installations will begin on October 1. Although the device is plug-and-play, an outdoor unit may be required for an ultra-fast connection. This installation service costs Rs 1,000 but is free for customers opting for an annual plan.
