Pune: PMC catches individual operating clinic without medical registration, initiates FIR
The Pune Municipal Corporation has taken action against an individual named Ujwalakumar Sanil Bakshi, residing in Karvenagar, Kakade Plaza, Panchsheel Mitra Mandal, Pune, for practicing medicine without proper registration. This action falls under the jurisdiction of the Warje-Karvenagar Regional Office.
Details of the Offense
Ujwalakumar Sanil Bakshi was operating a treatment center for piles without registering with any council as required under Section 33(1) of the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Act, 1961. He was found to be extensively using allopathic and Ayurvedic medicines on patients without proper authorization.
Legal Action
A case has been registered against Ujwalakumar Sanil Bakshi at the Warje Police Station on June 3, 2024. This action was carried out by the Medical Regional Officer of the Warje-Karvenagar Regional Office, Pune Municipal Corporation, under the guidance of the Assistant Health Officer of the Pune Municipal Corporation.
Ongoing Efforts and Public Appeal
The Pune Municipal Corporation will continue to take preventive action against such bogus medical practitioners. Citizens are urged to report any information about fake medical practitioners to the Pune Municipal Corporation immediately. This appeal has been made by Dr. Suryakant Devkar, Assistant Health Officer, and Dr. Kalpana Balivant, In-charge Health Officer, Pune Municipal Corporation.
