Pune: Teenager drowns in Kasarsai dam near Hinjawadi

Pune/Hinjawadi: A teenager drowned while swimming in Kasardai dam near Hinjawadi on Monday, April 22.
The deceased, identified as Madhav Hargauri Singh (17), residing in Nashik MIDC, had ventured into the dam waters for a swim. However, he could not correctly judge the conditions and was unable to swim.
Efforts to locate Madhav began on Monday evening, initiated by members of Wildlife Protector Maval, Shivdurg Mitra Lonavala, and Aapda Mitra Maval. However, due to darkness, the search operation had to be suspended temporarily and resumed next day morning.
Madhav’s body was recovered around 9:30 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, April 23. It is important to understand that unfamiliar waters can pose many dangers and care should be taken while venturing into such waters.
