Pune: District Has the Maximum Voter Count in Maharashtra

Pune voter statistics 2024

Pune district has the highest number of registered voters in Maharashtra, with a total of 8,282,363 people eligible to vote for four Lok Sabha (LS) constituencies: Pune, Shirur, Baramati, and Maval. This data comes as Maharashtra prepares for the Lok Sabha elections, mandated to occur in five phases from April 19 to May 20, 2024.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) recently announced that Maharashtra has a total of 92,491,806 registered voters as of April 8, 2024. These include 48,081,638 males, 44,404,551 females, and 5,617 belonging to the third gender. In Pune district alone, the constituency of Shirur has the largest voter count at 2,527,241, followed by Baramati at 2,326,487, Pune at 2,047,389, and Maval at 1,355,914.

While Pune district leads with the highest voter numbers, the Mumbai suburbs and Thane district are close behind with 7,356,596 and 6,579,588 voters, respectively. Other districts such as Nashik and Nagpur also have sizable voter bases.

Interestingly, in the districts of Ratnagiri, Nandurbar, Gondia, and Sindhudurg, female voters outnumber their male counterparts, pointing to a unique demographic shift in these areas. For instance, Ratnagiri has a total of 1,303,939 voters, with females constituting a majority.

As the state prepares for the upcoming elections, these figures play a critical role in Maharashtra’s diverse and numerous voter base in shaping the political landscape.
